The quaint little town of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh known for its exquisite art of wood carving has also given birth to its greatest Practitioner, Mr. Aabshar Hussain, a national award winning wood carving and Tarakashi artist. Mr. Hussain's passion for his craft started with carving wooden blocks for hand-printing with the most beautiful labyrinth of intricate designs chiselled to perfection by his nimble fingers. Now with over four decades of practice under his belt he has diversified his craft keeping in touch with demands of the contemporary market. His work is defined by his simplicity and the magical combination of tradition and modern as evident from his range of utility crafts like trays and mirrors.
