How often do we come across someone who has the magic to bestow life to the lifeless? Meet our master artisan Mr. Jallaudin who was honoured with the National Award in 2009 for his excellent skill of bone carving. Every day as he heads to his workshop, his train of thought starts revolving around all the artistic pieces that he is going to carve out using miniature knives and chisels. The end result of his magical spells are breathtaking jewellery, boxes, frames, lamps and so on. Being a widely cherished master artisan of his community, he has pledged to keep this 400 years old art form inspired by the Nawabi era and admired by the lovers of art, alive.
